Depot Hand
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Depot Hand to support the day-to-day operation of the Swan Brothers Depot in Meningie.

Position Purpose
The Depot Hand plays an important role in supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the Depot. This seasonal, casual role ensures depot facilities, equipment and yard areas are maintained to a high operational and safety standard while assisting with logistics, machinery movement and general farm duties as required.
This role contributes to a safe, organised and professional depot environment and supports the broader operational needs of the business.
kEY rESPONSIBILITIES
dEPOT oPERATIONS
Support the smooth operation of depot logistics and equipment.

Operate loaders and other machinery as required

Load trucks and ensure all outgoing product is accurately documented

Assist with general depot logistics and product movements

Support machinery relocations and plant movements between sites

Assist with minor repairs and parts logistics, including collection and delivery of spare parts

Undertake other operational tasks as directed
dEPOT mAINTENANCE
Maintain a clean, organised and safe depot environment.

Carry out routine depot housekeeping and site cleaning

Grease and maintain plant and equipment as required

Assist with basic preventative maintenance tasks

Report maintenance issues or safety concerns
yARD AND gROUND mAINTENANCE
Ensure depot external areas are well presented and functional.

Mowing lawns and maintaining grassed areas

Weed spraying and vegetation control

General yard tidiness and upkeep
-
Maintaining clear access and safe working areas around the depot
fARM sUPPORT
Provide assistance with farm operations when required.

Assist with cattle work

General farm hand duties

Support seasonal farm activities as directed
sKILLS AND eXPERIENCE

Experience operating loaders or similar machinery preferred

Practical mechanical aptitude

Ability to work safely in an operational depot or farm environment

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Strong work ethic and willingness to assist across multiple areas of the business

This role will be offered on a casual basis, for the fertiliser season (generally April – September).

Machinery tickets or experience desirable
